The Zones of Regulation is a framework that uses four colour-coded zones (Blue, Green, Yellow, Red) to help children and adults understand and manage their emotions and alertness levels, teaching them self-regulation skills for different situations like learning or socialising.
Green Zone being the calm, focused state for readiness and the Red Zone representing intense feelings like anger or terror.
It provides a shared, non-judgmental language to discuss feelings, helping individuals identify their emotional state and use strategies to move to the most appropriate zone for a task, like slowing down or resting
Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are complex cognitive processes. Based on Bloom’s Taxonomy, these skills allow individuals to apply knowledge to new situations, think critically, solve problems, and create original ideas, making them crucial for academic and professional success.
