AQA Forensic Psychology Offender Profiling: Top-Down & Bottom-Up

(0)
This is a lesson bundle for the second two topics in Forensic Psychology in the Illuminate Publishing Year 2 Psychology textbook: Lesson 2: Offender Profiling - the Top-Down Approach Lesson 3: Offender Profiling - the Bottom-Up Approach WARNING: The material in the Offender Profiling lessons comes from historical serial murderers and is unavoidably grim. In the Case Studies, I used information from the original publication of the famous FBI report on the interviews with serial killers. I edited out material that I thought was too gruesome to share with students, but please read through everything carefully and make your own judgments about whether or not it is appropriate for your students. The presentations contain clear outlines of AO1, but leaves much of the AO2 and AO3 work for the students to come up with. I designed the PPTs to have less, rather than more, information on them in order to make my students think first, and write after. My students want to copy and memorise, and I'm trying to encourage them to come to their own conclusions first, and then note down the most relevant application and evaluation points. Each presentation has a starter slide before the title slide. The additional documents are intended for you to use however you see fit - as in-class work, extension or homework, depending on the length of your lesson and the pace of your students. The information they contain is from actual government publications, books or news articles. I hope you find these materials useful and flexible. Any feedback would be appreciated as I am developing lesson materials as I go along!

This is a lesson bundle for the 4th and 5th topics in Forensic Psychology in the Illuminate Publishing Year 2 Psychology textbook: Lesson 4: Biological Explanations - Atavistic Form Lesson 5: Biological Explanations - Genetic and Neural Explanations The presentations contain outlines for the majority of AO1, but they do leave some detail and much of the AO2 and AO3 work for the students to come up with. I designed the PPTs to have less, rather than more, information on them in order to make my students think first, and write after. This is a set of lesson materials for the first lesson in Forensic Psychology to go along with the Illuminate A-Level textbook. The extra hand-outs and worksheet are intended for you to use as you see fit. They come from government publications or news articles. The PPT is designed to elicit ideas and opinions from students which can then be categorised into AO3 commentary. It helps reduce mindless copying from the board, but it means you will have to read the text and extra materials carefully first. PLEASE read the article on the under-reporting of rape first and consider whether or not it is appropriate for your students. Feedback is welcome as I am developing the rest of the unit as I go along!
