A Christmas themed combination based investigation aimed at yrs 5-6. Children have to work out how many combinations Santa could have for a new costume.

I made this Powerpoint to introduce the idea that maths and art, although seen as very different, can be very closely lined through shape. A simple idea that the children in my yr5 class really enjoyed, can be used as a whole day activity using A1 paper and paint or a single lesson activity using A4 paper and colouring pencils.
