This is a revision booklet which I use with my year 6's in preparation for the Maths Paper 1 (arithmetic). For each area the booklet gives information, examples and then questions for the children to attempt. This booklet covers most question types which come up in Paper 1. Revision covered in the booklet: Multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000 Dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 BODMAS Squared numbers Cubed numbers Finding percentages Multiplying fractions Dividing fractions by a whole number Adding and subtracting fractions Adding decimals Subtracting decimals (including from a whole number). Addition Subtraction Short multiplication Long multiplication Multiplying decimals Short division (included answers which are decimals) Long division Adding and subtracting mixed numbers Whole number times a mixed number (11 full pages) (each page is split in two halves in booklet form so 22 pages)

Here are some long division word problems. The questions are 4 digit divided by 2 digit (meeting the national curriculum target). There are 8 word problems followed by a further 3 multi-step challenge questions which involve division and addition or subtraction. There are also some multiplication word problems. There is a mixture of short and long multiplication with whole numbers and decimals. Questions are based around themes which interest children (Pokemon etc) These are for year 6 pupils.

. This is what I used with my year 6 class for a reading observation. . There are two differentiated word trails. The purple trail (average level) and the green trail (lower ability trail) as well as some yellow challenge cards. . The trails (information points) can be put up around you classroom/ school for the children to find. . Next to the information point goes the corresponding question (what does the word... mean). (The children have to scan the text for the word then read around it to determine the meaning by referring to the context.) . Power point to use at the beginning of the lesson included. . An exciting viking theme.
