This EAL/ESL lesson turns grammar practice and intensive reading into a dynamic, interactive task where students actually use the language in meaningful exchanges. Students will be learning and practicing grammar while also working on real communication skills. Students learn about Roald Dahl’s life (by reading a biography) and practise questions with ‘do’ or ‘be’ in this info gap created for 3 groups (A, B, C). Starter and extension activities included. This lesson combines grammar and integrated skills. Students need to work collaboratively in different group arrangements, catering for a variety of working styles. The materials are simple and there is high level of student interaction, making this a low prep, high impact lesson. The lesson s adaptable to different class sizes and proficiency levels and includes follow-up exercises for more advanced students.
