GCSE Edexcel Spanish Examination corner
I have created a corner in my classroom where it is all about the GCSE Spanish examination. I have displayed all the important information about the papers, themes, expectations and useful websites for revision. I also have got some labelled traysin this corner in which listening, reading, translation, speaking, writing revision activities, tips etc are available for students to take away and try at home.
I have attached here:
examination corner (all the info about the papers and themes)
examination banner (big sign for the display)
Cultural lesson about the Three Wise Men (Los Reyes Magos). Include information about this tradition, how is celebrated in Spain, a video to watch, a listening exercise (villancico) and a writing (carta a los Reyes Magos) task.
This resource can be used as a lesson on how to ask questions (Role play task) or as a booklet for students to practise as part of the lesson, homework, revision material, etc.
The booklet is aimed to focus on how to interpret/understand the bullet point(s) with the “?”, think about the English and then formulate the corresponding question(s) in Spanish. It also contains information about the role play task for Edexcel.
I have not created/designed the role plays. I have put together some of the foundation and higher role plays from the Edexcel VIVA textbook and some from past papers/sample assessments, etc. They are organised by theme and there is a grid available on each theme for students to complete with their own questions in both languages as well as notes.
GCSE Spanish tenses (higher level constructions grid)
Good grid to use while doing a writing task or preparing for a speaking task in order to include a range of tenses. Examples provided in Spanish and in English.
This is an A level lesson about el cine español.
Students can read through it independently or in pairs/small groups highlighting all unfamiliar words, important facts, etc and then try to complete the comprehension activity at the end about it.
A range of Ice breakers activities in Spanish (English version also included) for the first week of the course. Good way to practise vocabulary, grammar as well as getting to know everyone in the class.
Especially designed for year 12 students.
Learning mat to practise picture based tasks
It includes all the essential for a good photo description (physical description, action, mood, weather, location) as well as connectives, adjectives and opinion phrases.
GCSE Spanish learning mats that include common verbs, adjectives, prepositions, question words, numbers, adverbs, time expressions, connectives, etc. They are good to use in the classroom as support while doing activities and also for a quick revision.
