Just a short booklet to help with some analysis of ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’ by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Included is: A short extract from the beginning of the text, with some multiple choice questions about the given reading. Some information about the the general view of mental health in the 19th century. A task to condense this given information into 4 main key points. A grid task, breaking down the analysis process into more manageable chunks (WHAT point is the writer making? HOW do they do this? WHY do they do this?). Space for students to write up their findings from the previous task.

A lesson resource exploring the idea that Jennet is a victim in the story. This resource is to be used at the end of the book, once you have read the full story of what happened to both Jennet and Nathaniel. Good for examination of language, as includes a quotation sort for pupils, as well as deeper language analysis.

Works best when printed as a booklet on A3, to account for the work included. The tasks included are: The name of the setting of the story. A main character checklist. A gothic villain, and their character traits. The conventions of a gothic novel. Creating a book cover for said gothic story.
