PEE/Impressions Questions lesson based on an extract from Roald Dhal's 'Matilda'
This is a full lesson aimed at KS3 students scaffolding how to answer an ‘impression question’ using a PEE structure including a ‘Do Now’ starter activity.
The lesson goes through what a ‘Point’ is, how we add in ‘evidence’ and then how we strengthen our argument by ‘explaining’.
The worksheet attached allows students to fill in their table as the lesson progresses before giving them an opportunity to write their own full paragraphs at the end of the lesson.
The extract used is from the start of Roald Dhal’s novel, ‘Matilda’ - “By the time she was three, Matilda had taught herself to read by studying newspapers and magazines that lay around the house.”
Dyslexia friendly cream background and blue writing.
Worksheet best printed as A3.
