Adaptation of a children’s book “Cosette” ( Les Miserables) into a play. My year 8 class perfomed this play in April 2024 in front of the whole Year 8 cohort in the Assembly Hall. It was a resounding success. Five Scenes ( fully translated in English) I wanted to make sure that the play included lots of action and lots of dialogue. I also wanted Inclusivity. Every student had a part so everyone felt valued and involved. Ideal for a Year 8 or Year 9 class. Cast list with details of their part, their costumes and the props Programme produced to help the whole Year 8 cohort to understand each scene so they could follow what was going on. Powerpoint Presentation The show told the story of Cosette, a character of the novel Les Misérables of Victor Hugo. This little girl who is only eight years old must work for the Thénardier family. Luckily Jean Valjean will free her from this cruel family and will look after her. My pupils displayed exceptional commitment and dedication towards rehearsing their part and learning their lines. We were blown away by their confidence and their team work in order to pull off such a successful show. I hope that you will enjoy coordinating this project. I had a great time!
