This resource contains fifteen English Language Paper 1, Question 5 prompts. Each prompt is inspired by one of the Power and Conflict poems from the AQA poetry anthology. The wording is accurate to AQA’s new 2026 specification. Formatting is based on past papers. Each prompt contains a two tasks: ‘Write a description of __ from your imagination. You may choose to use the picture provided for ideas.’ ‘Write the beginning of a story about ___’. Images used have been taken from a Creative Commons source (Unsplash). Specific attribution can be found on each individual sheet.
