Jataka Tales are approx. 500 stories about the previous births of Gautama Buddha in both human and animal form. This genre of texts is one of the oldest classes of Buddhist literature.
Metta Sutra has the theme of how to develop a special form of kindness and goodwill, called ‘Metta’. Metta means loving kindness and it is one of the “Four Immeasurables” or the Four Divine States of Buddhism.
