Print, laminate and cut these caterpillars out. Place them on a tuff tray with some colourful pompoms and encourage the children to match the pompoms to the colours on the caterpillar’s back. There are a couple of caterpillars that have a few blank spaces for the children to continue the patterns and 3 blank caterpillars for them to create their own patterns! Have fun!

Print and laminate this resource. Once laminated, cut into cards and add velcro so the children can match the words to the pictures. This really supported the children in my class to recognise words and the letter sounds. They began working with the easier version (matching the words to the cards with the words already on the picture cards) and after a couple of weeks could match the words to the picture cards without any supports!

Print, laminate and cut these cards. Get a cheap box of cheerio style cereal and get the children to place the cheerios over the pictures. Once they have counted them, they can eat them! This encourages them to engage in the learning and works well for children who are motivated by food!

Print, cut and laminate this resource to help your learners to sort colours into two categories. Cut out the pictures in the tables and use velcro to attach them to the tables. Present them to the child in a tub or a pile beside the resource and ask them to sort the colours. You might need to show them how to do this first by placing a couple of colours under the correct category. Included are colours: red, blue, green, yellow, orange and purple.
