Plan – Day 1 – Complete never heard the word activity before whole class read. Teacher will read this to the class and the rest of the class will follow using rulers to guide them. Day 2 – Partner read. Children to complete vocabulary activity and sentence completing activity. Greater depth challenge: can the children replace the words with synonyms but still keep the same meaning. Day 3 – Tables to choral read out loud to the rest of the class. Children to complete retrieval activity. Weekly plan and activities (including reading extract)
