Architecture

I created this for Year 5, but it can easily be adapted for pupils across Key Stage 2, from Year 3 upwards. As my school is based in Brussels, the last few lessons on the PPT focus on architecture in Brussels, though the project can be adapted to explore the architecture of any city. The scheme of work runs over a full term and the children engaged with it enthusiastically. I’ve included a wide range of pupil examples, which I find particularly useful for inspiration and discussion. Enjoy!

These Art lessons focus on the Artists Frida Kahlo and Banksy. Pupils will create research pages in their sketchbooks with the final goal to create a self portrit in the style of Kahlo and use spray paint. The project took me a whole half term with my year 6 pupils.
