Scheme of work that looks at Electronic Dance Music. Used with Year 8s. Scheme has listening tasks, a range of sheets to learn small riffs/parts of songs on the keyboard as well as a composition assessment.
Display resource for the key terms needed for Eduqas GCSE Music sorted into the different elements - known as MAD TSHIRTS, all presented on t-shirts.
For my own display I’ve printed each t-shirt on a different colour (see image) and use these colours when discussing the 2 set works.

This topic is designed to introduce the beginnings of reading music and putting this together with playing the keyboard/piano.
The topic covers;
different note names and values (semibreve, minim, crotchet and quaver)
notes of the treble clef stave
notes of the keyboard (where to find the different notes)
keyboard performance skills to play Ode to Joy (different sheet levels to cover all abilities)
This booklet is aimed to take students through a project where they need to plan a music festival. It looks at famous festivals, as well as considering all the different elements that are needed for a festival (artists, stages, location, merch, food vendors etc).
Useful for those who may not be a music specialist, as a homework project or for cover work.
Display that celebrates musicians born in each month as well as songs/pieces that feature the month/season in it’s title. The pack contains the display for each month September - July.
This is also used in conjuntion with making students from each class the ‘Musician of the Month’ due to hard work, and the certificates for this are also included in the pack if anyone wishes to make use of this feature.
One off lesson to be done during Women’s History Month featuring key female artists who have had an impact on the industry. It has 2 parts, first is a a treasure hunt questionnarie with the info sheets being placed around the classroom for students to go around and find the answers to the questions, with the second part being a listening based on 3 of the female musicians.
