The object of this Literary Module is to help the students develop a well-rounded knowledge of how to write proper paragraphs and essays that will make intelligent reading for an audience. If students learn the asset of P.I.E., they will be set up for the future when it comes to explaining and supporting an argument or idea. In this Literary Module the focus is on The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. How this Module works: After working through the Google Slideshow presentation on P.I.E., and discussing any queries, the students then team up, and select one of the two questions per chapter to answer. Through brainstorming, outlining their thoughts and ideas, collecting images and developing their point and explanations, the students then complete the Google Slide activity and present their findings to their peers and teacher. Students must answer 100 questions made up of both long and short written answers plus multiple-choice selection answers – all complete with answers for the teacher – this is a complete package. The aim of this module is to help students gain an understanding of the message that George Orwell offers the readers of his book, ultimately making the text more enjoyable to read. In turn, this experience will also teach students to question what they read in the future. THIS MODULE CONTAINS: 3 x Google Slideshows (Google Classroom compatible): A short biography on George Orwell and what influenced him to write Animal Farm. A short introduction to the novel, a commentary on international affairs and how the world was when the book was published in 1945. A Google Slideshow of all the illustrations from the module should you wish to use them. 2 x Google Form Modules (Google Classroom compatible) containing: 1 x Google Form: the complete module with no chapter sectioning. 1 x Google Form: the complete module sectioned for each of the ten chapters. The majority of the questions are multiple-choice, and they are set to mark themselves automatically. There are long and short answer written questions which will require the teacher to mark themselves manually; example of acceptable answers are supplied for the teacher in a Novel Study Module with answers PDF.
