This is an original fiction text of approximately 600 words in line with Year 6 SATs expectations, complete with 12 questions based upon VIPERS. There is space on the question sheets for the children to answer and all answers are provided for the teacher to reference for ease. It is written in Open Dyslexic font to be fully inclusive. It is designed to support children’s learning and development by exposing them to a text length similar to that encountered in SATs and a range of different question styles. Reading Comprehension aimed at Year 6 (challenging). It is a Non-Fiction text about dolphins, about 550 words long (in line with SATs expectations). There is a complete extract which can be printed or read on tablet or device, followed by 12 questions based on VIPERS with space for children to write their answers. There is also an answer sheet provided for teachers to ease the marking and discussion process. The aim of this is to provide a good, challenging text to prepare children for the sorts of text they could encounter in Year 6 SATs and also to save teachers time.
