Nail Soup

This is an English unit of work which I have put together using a version of a traditional tail as a hook. Children learn the text together then use that to scaffold their own versions. Each day has a starter, which is normally GPS based. Then there is a main input followed by a writing activity or drama activity. I have also attached another version of the story so the children can see how it can be boxed up and changed along the way.

Here are 4 lessons created on slides so you don’t have to. The lessons include theses takeaways: I can use a range of shading techniques using light and dark gradients. I can produce some intricate drawings that use tone, line and shading, I can create different textures using a variety of techniques. I can talk about my own and others work, expressing likes and dislikes, using their increasing knowledge and understanding of artistic vocabulary and techniques. Focus on Georgia Okeeffe’s art work. Made for a Year 4 class but also suitable for Year 3.
