39 slides. Animated algebra tiles. I do, we do, you do. High quality purposeful practice questions with worked solutions. Loads of rich problem solving.
Concept of an equation
Solving one step linear equations
Solving two step linear equations (including brackets)
Forming and solving equations in the contexts of angles and area/perimeter
A fun pair/group activity for teaching Venn diagrams in secondary maths.
Great scafolding for introducing Venn diagrams and streching more able students.
Four card types for 12 Venn diagrams:
Venn diagrams (shaded regions and numbers)
Frequency tables
Probabilities with set notation
Written descriptions of the region
After 12 years of teaching maths I got exhaused trying to teach so many different abilities at the same time. This resource allows a teacher to run three separate tasks of area and circumference with ease, simultaneously! Each of the three tiers can randomise questions, display answers or progress onto the next stage. This allows students to learn at the pace appropriate to them rather than having to be held back by or having to keep up with the rest of the class.
This resource has seven levels:
Area and circumference of a circle
Area and circumference of a circle (with harder numbers)
Area and perimeter of a semicircle
Area and perimeter of a quarter circles
Area of circles with holes in
Area of semicircles with holes in
Area, arc length and radius of sectors
(If you enjoy this resource there is another one for solving equations.)
Randomised numberacy assessment (with answers). Assessing all foundational components of numeracy (four operations, rounding, percentages, fractions, negatives, decimals and ratio).
Use this same standardised test at intervals over the year to track progress of students. Get comparative data between different classes and reliably measure impact on core numeracy skills.

There are 12 levels of difficulty that go from solving one step equations (additively and multiplicatively) to solving equations with brackets, unknowns on both sides, fractional solutions, and solving equations with fractions to give the full range of varation and challenge.

20 Randomly generated questions on the four operations with answers.
Basic macros used to hide/show answers and randomise questions.
Easy to edit text and appearance formating as required.
