Markings are either unit fractions of a half turn or fractions of pi. Students work with degrees for a decade but only a few months with radians. I use these to help students build confidence with radians, in particular, estimating angles in degrees and radians, then measuring to determine accuracy. Celebrate Tau Day (28th June) with a school wide challenge! Either print off the 17 Dingbat challenges (Catchphrase) as posters and scatter them around school for a treasure hunt, or run through the slides on the board and get students shouting out the phrases. Help students build confidence with radians by letting them measure angles in radians. The worksheet has 25 angles to measure, 21 of them are fractions of pi and 4 are not. Option 1: Print off some radian protractors (mine are here) and let students use them to measure the angles. Option 2: Get students to measure the angles in degrees and convert them over to radians. 40 cards, each illustrating multiple circle theorems. Play a game of Uno, where cards are placed only if the card on the table and the card in your hand both show the same circle theorem. An angle chase worksheet where students work in radians to find all missing angles. Angles are to scale, allowing year 12 and 13 students to get a feel for the size of angles written in radians. The intended idea behind the task is for students to discuss their thought process as they find angles, without ever mentioning degrees. For example, the angles in a triangle add up to Pi radians.
