A Level Sociology- Experiments Worksheet [EDITABLE] for Theories and Methods & Methods in Context
Worksheet on Experiments in Social Research for AQA A Level Sociology students for Theories & Methods, and Methods in Context
Students to fill in worksheet using information found in the Webb and Westergaard A Level Sociology textbook.
The first two pages are for experiments in the theories and methods topic - there is a definition of laboratory and field experiments and the comparitive method - Durkheim’s study of suicide is the example for the comparative method. There are prompts for students to identify the methodological strengths and limitations for each type of experiments e.g Hawthorne effect etc.
The next two pages are on experiments for methods in context - here students are again identifying methodological strengths and limitations but linking these ideas to education. Specific examples include Rosethal and Jacobson’s field experiment.
The final page includes an exam question for students to plan and write to consolidate their learning
