This fully resourced Year 9 Scheme of Work guides students through William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet in a structured, accessible, and engaging way.
The unit develops students’ confidence with Shakespearean language, while exploring key themes of love, conflict, family, fate, power and tragedy. Lessons are carefully scaffolded to support mixed‑ability and lower‑ability learners, while still building the analytical and writing skills needed for GCSE preparation.
Planned for 3 lessons per week, this SOW includes reading, discussion, PEEL analysis, creative writing and assessment, with clear modelling throughout.
