Maths Mission: Emergency Landing
A normal school trip suddenly turns into an emergency! When the plane develops a technical problem, the automatic systems stop working. The pupils must use their maths skills to help the crew restore the systems and land safely.
This exciting maths escape challenge contains 30 maths problems across 6 missions. Each correct calculation reveals a digit of a partial code. Pupils must carefully follow the instructions, record their codes and use them in the final challenge to crack the complete code.
The activities practise a range of key maths skills, including:
Large numbers
Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Fractions and percentages
Time and distance
Measurement and unit conversion
Speed and problem-solving
A fun and motivating resource for Year 5–6 that combines maths practice, problem-solving and teamwork with an exciting aviation adventure.
