(0)
Two practice IA1 data tests for QCE Psychology Unit 3 (2025 syllabus), with editable Word papers and marking guides. Each test: three unseen datasets, 20 marks, 60 minutes plus 5 minutes perusal, with a 6/6/8 split across Objectives 2, 3 and 4 and verbs from the syllabus question specifications. Test A: duration of short-term memory (after Peterson & Peterson, 1959); extinction after different reinforcement schedules (Skinner box); perceptual set (after Bugelski & Alampay, 1961). Test B: levodopa and finger tapping in Parkinson’s disease (placebo-controlled); levels of processing (after Craik & Tulving, 1975); extinction and spontaneous recovery (after Pavlov). Marking guides include expected responses, mark-by-mark criteria, graph-reading tolerances, error-carried-forward rules, common student errors and a raw-mark to IA1 (/10) conversion table using the ISMG cut-offs. Suitable for formative practice before IA1 and for external assessment revision. Datasets are fictional. Independent resource, not produced or endorsed by the QCAA.

QCE Psychology IA1 Data Test Checklist

(0)
One-page pre-submission checklist for QCE Psychology IA1 data tests (2025 syllabus), based on the QCAA’s published endorsement findings. In the QCAA subject reports, 50% (2024) and 44% (2025) of Psychology IA1 data tests were endorsed at Application 1. The most common reasons were alignment and scope and scale. Checks cover: Alignment: question focus vs objective, the 2025 question specifications, datasets from the listed Unit 3 practicals and case studies, no methodology questions. Scope and scale: objective mark split, variety of data and item types, calculation complexity, central tendency suited to the data. Transparency: cueing multi-mark questions, labelled error bars, formulas provided. Marking scheme: expected responses tied to the verb, a characteristic for every mark. Editable Word and PDF.
