Shared from TES COnnect (ENgland). I had downloaded years ago a resource and changed it to include vocabulary I use in class. I don’t know if the original resource is here. If anyone finds an authentic resource to use to begin this lesson, please share!

This is for my American level 3 honors class (Year 3) After teaching about pollution and solutions to pollution, I presented this. The reading uses an IB MYP rubric for language acquisition. The answers to the final question in the reading should incorporate the infographic as well as the video in the PowerPoint The writing is to follow.

The lesson plan is not mine. I used part of Y Graignic's lesson and a lesson from a National Board Certified teacher (US). This was offered freely for French teachers on this website. http://madameshepard.com/ Slide 5 i only used with my Advanced Placement class. For my Level 4/AP classes (not sure what the English equivalent is), I had them do a debate in French arguing the appropriate French response to the crisis. I also had them write messages of condolences in French using si+imperfect + conditional or subjunctive. I hope this is helpful.

To review verbs once students have learned their conjugations. Tables can be changed to include whatever verbs you wish. This helps students see patterns in verbs. These are useful formative tasks. While they do isolate grammar, in the context of an authentic resource (reading, YouTube video, RFI report) I find them quite helpful and so do the students. One is for lower level students the other is for advanced students.

Using Ingrid's house/dance song "tu es foutu" I am able to review the passé composé and object pronouns in context. The kids seemed to really enjoy this.
