This pack supports students with retrieval practice in GCSE Science. It can be used as an individual revision aid, form time activity or as part of a wider program of interleaving.
The activities can be used as individual resources to support overlearning fundamental knowledge.
There will always be a support video to watch prior to questioning and this can be found on the supporting power-point, which can be used to display the correct answers.
Questioning focusses on the key knowledge in the topic and begins with ten multiple choice questions. These should be marked and reviewed before moving on to part two.
In part two students will see similar questions to part one, this time there will not be the support of seeing an option. Students are advised not to look back at part one unless they absolutely must. This builds retention and self-checking. Again, students should mark and review their answers before moving on to part three.
In part three the questions will have been adapted and may require a longer answer or calculation. The same knowledge will be being assessed but presented in a different way.
