Five short reading activities for children to do independently or with a partner. Skills focus on principles of building up fluency from key vocabulary to expressive reading of a short paragraph with some comprehension questions. Based on Chapter 1 and 2 of The Last Bear by Hannah Gold but text is adapted from the original. Useful for those children needing short focused activities to develop their fluency skills.

A set of slides that cover a five day set of lessons based around Chapter 1 of The Wrong Train by Jeremy De Quidt. Reading skills taught - Vocabulary, Retreival and Inference. Definitions of question types and questions are on the slides. Text not included but can be found online.
