Hot Weather Design & Technology Ice Lolly Challenge

(0)
A resource that I have designed for home learning. School may be closed, but the designing doesn’t stop! Students are challenged to transform a simple ice lolly stick into a creative and useful product using recycled materials found at home. The challenge encourages creativity, problem-solving, sustainability, and practical making skills. Students should: Eat an ice lolly (or use an ice lolly stick they already have) Design a product using the stick and recycled materials Build their design Upload a photo of their finished product to Teams Include an annotated design sketch and a short evaluation The poster provides step-by-step instructions, design criteria, inspirational ideas, and details of what needs to be submitted on Teams. This fun, accessible challenge allows students to develop their Design & Technology skills while working independently at home. We can’t wait to see the creative solutions they come up with!
