This intervention was designed to be a cost-effective, easy to run, speedy intervention which could focus directly upon the child’s reading needs. I have been an English lead for 9 years and decided not to invest in pricey interventions but to create my own using the best ideas from a variety. A fun, personalised activity to support children returning to school. Activity provides a PPT (adapted from one shared online) plus a personalised PPT with children’s names (editable). Children learn skills to create zentangle patterns before completing their placemats. Placemats could be used if children are having lunch in classrooms (can be laminated to be wiped down etc.)
