This is a stand alone lesson with activities that shows the Pagan and Christian origins of the Christmas tradition and what it is Students think Christmas Should be About
This is an old resource given to me at Uni, but the ideas are solid and they really do work.
If you ever are working with students reluctant to put pen to page (and who hasn't come across this?) then these ideas are worth a try.
Very useful, scaffold ed and well explained.
If you chose to make the Project a formal assessment - then this also includes feedback that can be delivered.
It features Conclusions and Revision of the entire topic
This is a quick intro lesson - can be used with Low and Middle Ability. Would need to be adjusted to be challenging for higher ability students.
Examines the Witches and the promotion of Macbeth after the Execution of the Traitorous Thanes!
Includes Extracts of scenes and ‘Scene Summary’ sheets to print if required.
This lesson was made by me when I realised there was A) no mention of this event in the textbook in my History Department and B) The Students had no idea - even vaguely- about this.
I think this is too important to NOT teach - SO I made this resource. Enjoy!
This is just a guide to help students break down Eight Mark Questions into key areas easier to plan and include. There are several model answers included here as well as practice tasks for students to complete themselves.
I have found this method extremely useful for SEN/EAL/Lower Ability Students- yet it can also work to structure responses from higher ability to students who may have a tendency to ‘waffle’ or write too much in an assessment.
Equally- anyone and everyone may benefit from it of course!
A Collection of fairly simple and CLEAN ‘One Liner’ Style jokes - useful for Form Time/Tutor Time to start the day but can also be used in any lesson of course!
I have also found that some of these jokes can be used to help EAL Learners understand double meanings/puns and OF COURSE they are all ‘lame’ and the kids will try NOT to laugh- but it’s more about the ritual/habit it creates.
Hope you Enjoy!
