Draw linear and quadratic graphs to produce a Christmas picture. Start with linear graphs and extend students to quadratic graphs. Aimed at GCSE but also suitable for higher ability KS3.

For lower ability students print out the algebraic terms onto card and cut out. Students then work through the worksheet and are able to manipulate the terms for each question to make it easier to recognise when to use the “-” sign.
