Kirikou Film Unit Booklet

Hi there I’ve designed this really for Year 7 students, but anyone could get something out of it I think. It’s designed to last 3 lessons but you could extend it easily. There’s a mix of language and culture here, including an activity on Youssou N’Dour and the theme song, which is lovely. It’s a nice end-of-term type activity that can give a different insight into an element of Francophone culture that is often not covered at KS3, plus the students love it! Let me know what you think.

World Cup 2026 Spain/Hispanic Focus

I have put together this work pack for students in Key Stage 3 to fit in with the 2026 Football World Cup which starts next week. I’m hoping it might keep some of those tricky Year 9 students engaged as we approach the end of term, as well as keeping the challenge there for those who are continuing with it. I’ve given it a Hispanic flavour by only focussing on Spain and the other Hispanic countries that are participating -(quite a lot this year!) - as well as well-known Spanish-speaking players. There is a range of activities, from very straightforward to more challenging and open-ended, which are indicated along the way. There is a key vocab list and sentence builder at the end. Let me know how it goes!

I’ve also included a task where students have to write their opinion of the France team’s World Cup song. Hopefully there’s something for everyone.
