This lesson we look at Maya Angelou's Caged Bird meter, rhyme and rhythm. It includes a powerpoint and the poem. Just as an observation, it does explain how to measure the poem, but the answer sheet includes the syllable count and the rhyme of the chorus only, as I normally do this as a whole class activity.
