I created these mats to use with play dough linked to the story of the very hungry catepillar for children to enhance their learning through free choice activities within the foundation phase.
This is the first levelling grid I've done, am hoping to do one for each subject eventually. I plan to use it for putting each pupils name above a colum of boxes and putting a tick next to each level descriptor a child has achieved to see what level each child fits best. I used this with a 2nd grade class. I cut and laminated the instructions and mixed them up so that the children could reorder the sentences based on what they did and record them, drawing pictures of each instruction they followed.
