A differentiated presentation including starter, paired activity and individual activity on solving one and two-step equations. Ooh and a plenary too.

A chance to target the topics that I think students regularly over-look or just get wrong. A 10-round quiz with bits of real-life exam questions and some made up ones too.

Students are given 4 formulae to rearrange (easy->difficult) and they must select the correct steps, in order, from a list of given steps. If they are correct then the chosen steps will spell a word that they will recognise - easy for assessing their progress.

Full lesson covering metric to imperial although it focusses firstly on miles/km. The paired activity encourages students to try others via a real life example of a lift (kg/pounds). Answers are provided.
