Last Week of Summer Term - Early Years Pirate Planning Activities

(0)
It’s so difficult to plan for an Early Year’s class in the last week of term. While older children are able to follow learning ideas more independently, our youngest children are not. 24 years of teaching experience allows me to plan simply, flexibly and effectively for the final week of term. A simple topic web of activities based on the theme Pirates and more specifically, the story “Pirates Love Underpants” (which the children will love!) with all printable resources ready to go. This covers literacy and mark making, numeracy, expressive arts and includes fun outdoor activities, printable mud kitchen recipe for pirate pizzas. With the addition of a few basic classroom resources and Twinkl printables if you choose to add them, your week is done, planned for, effective enough to engage your learners, fun enough to ensure they have a memorable final week in your class, flexible enough to accomodate the inevitable leavers assemblies etc. and crucially stress free enough for you to enjoy your last week of classroom time too. This should allow you some freedom to observe the children and have time to spend engaging with them. The adults in my class are plannning to dress up as pirates as a suprise on the last day … but that’s just extra fun for us! Use this resource however you wish but if you want to just go and enjoy your “free” time - go. Your last week of planinng has been done for you. Ohoy Matey! … or something like that ; )
