These assessment sheets can be used flexibly to suit your writing assessment needs from Years 1 - 6. Fully editable as a Word Document, you can change headings and strands as appropriate. In the blank row at the top, place the date of the child’s piece of writing that you are assessing. Alternatively, these can be named as Terms, so you assess once per term. Next to each writing assessment strand, you can tick, or colour-code (e.g. green for EXP and purple for GD). Leave any areas not met or not applicable to the genre of writing. The purple highlighted strands are indicators of GD to support with assessing higher-level writers. These can be removed if you would prefer.
