Year 3 Mastery approach addition plans I’ve used at the beginning of the year after place value. Plans for 3 weeks and some resources/sheets I made myself which you may want to edit for your children depending on where they are. Reference made to Maths No Problem text book and work book - I used only to aid planning and not as a class textbook, so you should be able to use plans without the books. Feedback is welcomed, I hope you find them clear and useful, hoping to upload more soon, have some subtraction ones I’ve used on the way with similar resource sheets.

These are plans I’ve used after teaching addition based on the mastery approach, I have also attached week 1 of addition which introduces both addition and subtraction - otherwise subtraction plans start at week 2. References to the Maths No Problem text book is what I used to aid planning (not as a class textbook) - as a visual that I would model to the class but plenty of visuals are available to aid your modelling without needing the textbook, i.e. White Rose guidance, other resource sights. I hope you find these plans and sheets I’ve created clear and useful, feedback is always welcomed. Included is a class sheet I created when I found the class were struggling with regrouping/ exchanging, so we did it all together practically, you may need it or not - as with everything you may need to adapt to your children and where they are, No word problems included as so many widely available. Remember to go at the kids pace not necessarily the plans.

Highly pitched in places but easily adaptable - chn chose countries to visit within 7 continents - visited a different continent each week. Plans if useful - not detailed.
