Developed for teaching analysis and annotation for the Edexcel Art & Design: Fine Art/Textiles specification, but they would be useful for supporting students studying the others too. Analysis support documents and suggested activity -includes teacher guide for a gallery activity for completing the artists portion of projects. Always worked really well with students and is great for an observation lesson. ready-to-print Powerpoint of artists for use during gallery activity, or simply throughout ESA or other projects. Analysis help sheet consisting of a ‘fill in the gaps’ structure, with suggestions on how to fill each gap included on the page; format was very useful previously for supporting students lacking confidence in their literacy. Annotation support documents -Completed ready-to-print ‘Fortune teller’ document featuring questions to underpin annotation writing; supports self-reflection and/or peer discussion in a low stakes/fun/game mode that is familiar to students. -Annotation help sheet consisting of a ‘fill in the gaps’ structure, with suggestions on how to fill each gap included on the page; format was very useful previously for supporting students lacking confidence in their literacy.

This is a PDF helpsheet I created to support lower-attaining students to write a GCSE level artist/designer analysis more independently during lessons or for homework. It could also be used at KS3. Each sentence has a gap with a number which corresponds to a particular word bank on the same page. Students can select from the relevant word bank to build an analysis following the Content, Form, Process, Mood format (common with GCSE Art and Design: Textiles/Fine Art).
