Christmas Carol Revision - A Christmas Party!

What can be better than having a Christmas Party in June? My y10 LOVED this. They asked for a lesson to revise quotes ready for the mocks. (We are doing GOODWILL) I came up with the ideas of having a party, complete with games and decorations. (5 Activities in total) This does include very specific quotes, but can be adapted to fit any theme or character! It comes complete with Christmas songs and a PowerPoint presentation to support. Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. B’ah Humbug!?!?

Writing revision for AQA GCSE Language Paper1. Reluctant writers - grade 4(+)

Hi. I have been using this with my reluctant y11 writers. The hate writing anything of length and this is a practical way of breaking the question down, encouraging them to plan and scaffolding an answer. A model is included and some images/question for students to attempt their own. Probably 2 lessons worth of stuff - could be extended with peer and self assessment.

Revision Support - Parents - handout/email/general advice

Parents’ Evening and/or mocks looming? Parents always asking what they can do to support their little angels? This editable two sided handout is the easy solution to give/email parents (and students) as they begin to revise. Although text/exam board specific - it is easily to edit. (The web sites and advice run across the boards). Side two consists of higher level vocab. Any questions/suggestions welcome.

An Inspector Calls Context Game

(2)
This is a simple game - students love it. The first page should be enlarged to A3 and given to pairs. A is writer B is seeker. A is not allowed form their seat, B is not allowed a pen. The other pairs of the clues are hidden around the room/school. Seeker must memorise the fact from the clue and relate it to the writer. Can’t shout. Learning: They are looking at the changes between 1912 -1945 - why Priestley felt the need to convey his message. Takes about 20 mins.
