Squashed Tomato Challenge
This great hands on STEM problem solving activity challenges pupils to design a model of a systems that can move tomatoes form the mountainside where they are grown to the market below.
The challenge materials include a teacher’s guide, pupil activity sheets, certificates , a poster and links to videos and more information about the real system built in Nepal.

The challenge can provide a focus for British Science Week ; be used to gain a CREST Discovery Award; as a STEM or science club activity; enhance a lesson on forces/friction/levers; form the basis of an enrichment day; and be the starting point for a range of cross-curricular activities.
