These are multiple-use fun but short stories for primary aged children. They can be read in one session. Ideal for assemblies and end of the day story time. They encourage listening, prediction and discussion skills because each story comes with a leading question to solve. Additionally, for English language and comprehension skills, for each story there are 2 sets of questions (in all, 40 differentiated questions, ‘Hot’ and ‘Hotter’). Answers are also provided. Most of the stories have topic and curriculum links such as science and history, so will encourage pupils to do further research. A story question can also be used on its own for use in class discussions and debates. Some of the questions set the child to do a short creative writing task.
