Order decimals and unit fractions
This Year 5 Mathematics assessment resource focuses on ordering decimals and unit fractions and locating them on a number line, aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. Each document targets a specific curriculum objective and can be used across any mathematics topic test as a flexible evidence-gathering tool.
The resource includes two assessment sheets:
Sheet 1 – Evidence Task / Pre-Test Style
A short assessment designed to assess students’ understanding of ordering decimals and unit fractions and accurately placing them on a number line. While structured like a pre-test, this sheet can also be used as summative evidence of learning for the objective.
Sheet 2 – Alternative Evidence Task
Features similar question types with alternative numbers, allowing teachers to collect additional or replacement evidence for the same curriculum objective. This supports moderation, differentiation, and provides further opportunities for students to demonstrate understanding.
