This plan includes floor work and progresses on to apparatus. It can be used as a basis and amended as necessary. I have also used it in other KS2 year groups.
A template and filled in factor bug sheet to help LA year 5 children understand factors. The antennae are for 1 and itself, the tail for square numbers only and the legs for the amount of factors you need to add.
Investigation template for area and perimeter. I used this with a LA year 5 maths class as we looked at the relationship between area and perimeter and how it changes as the shape changes. Although they found it hard to understand at first, when I had shown them more examples, the investigation helped to embed the difference between area and perimeter.
I recently delivered an assembly on Syria to Years 4, 5 and 6 to give them a background to what they were hearing on the news. It is a very simplified version of the history but helped them to put it all into context. There was a lot in there and I did not get through it all. It could also be used for older children.
