Blood sugar, glucose regulation AQA B5

A resource for the homeostasis AQA unit B5 topic on blood sugar regulation. I used http://www.tes.co.uk/teaching-resource/Control-of-blood-glucose-6130715/ as a starting point so thanks must go to Hannah Thomas. Again this is a powerpoint and an accompanying worksheet - also with exam questions. I am aware that this is a bit dry/ didactic so if anybody has any ideas to make it more interesting please add them in the comments section! Again if you like it let me know and I will put more up! Thanks! N.B. I have just updated it because there were a couple of errors7/3/12

Here is a powerpoint and accompanying worksheet about genetic screening and counselling. The worksheet can be filled in as you go through the powerpoint. The application questions refer to those in the nelson thornes aqa textbook but could be substituted for your own. Please rate and comment if you find this useful or if you have any suggestions for improvement.

Hi, this is a powerpoint and accompanying worksheet about PCR. There is a video which can be found on you tube and some links to useful animations. I worked through it, set some exam-style questions and let them use the computers to have a go at the PCR simulation themselves on the last slide - or you can just do it on the whiteboard! Please rate it and let me know if you find it useful or have any suggestions for improvement! P.S. I think I have adapted this from another TES resource so again thanks for the original!

This is my powerpoint for introducing haemogliobin - starting with its structure. You then get them to draw a graph before indroducing the bohr shift and different affinities. May need to be broken down into two lessons. Please leave feedback so that I know if it is worth putting any more resources up or not? I have quite a few!

I have added comments on the slides to explain how I would use them and there is also a link for the video I use. This can be used as a GCSE lesson - probably best for a bright set or adapted to suit your needs It can also be adapted for an A-level lesson. I have used a plenary activity from http://www.tes.co.uk/teaching-resource/Taxonomy-classification-post-it-game-6302995/ so you will need to download the activity from there if you want to use it. Thanks to srobinson! Please let me know if it was useful by commenting and rating! Thanks
