Here is a dream jar proforma that I made for a BFG inspired display. The children wrote their own dreams onto the jar and then decorated around the outside. It looked really effective. Could be used in any year group.

Wanted and missing poster writing frames linked to the story Meerkat Mail. More able will need to use their inference skills to describe the jackal, whereas the middle and lower ability children need to describe Sunny using expanded noun phrases. The lower ability sheet is heavily scaffolded. This has been created for a Y2 class but could be used in year 1 or 3. PDF file.

Here are three differentiated sheets asking children to rewrite the text onto the given postcard writing frame. The children have to identify where there are missing capitals(including proper nouns) or fulls and correct it. Here is a missing number robot activity sheet that can be printed onto sticky labels or can simply be printed and cut out. The robot has eaten the missing number and the pupil has to use their problem solving skills to fill it in. Can be adapted to suit any ability or age.
