Immersive Reader isn’t fully available in desktop versions of Word and Outlook instead “Read Aloud” is available to do a similar task. This video demonstrates how to access and use Read Aloud.

Where Immersive Reader or Read Aloud is not available in Microsoft Office desktop applications the “Speak” facility allows text-to-speech in applications such as Excel and PowerPoint.
