Full Reading and Writing Smart Notebook lessons for 2 and a half to 3 weeks. This text was used with a Year 5 class, and has full lessons to work through for a whole reading week (which includes Vocabulary and comprehension questions and tasks to complete), followed by a writing unit ( a planning day, writing day, and improvements day), which then leads to a final reading week of different tasks and activities based on the pages read each day. All lessons (13 full lessons in total) are to last an hour, and completes this funny enjoyable text that the children absolutely love. The reading and writing frameworks cover the NC objectives and activities are structured to support the closing of reading and the vocabulary gap for children.

This resource is a clear way of showing when and how to science curriculum progresses through the Primary school, and is ideal for subject leads. It shows in an interesting and visual fashion the question stems that lead through the units taught in Primary school from Yr 1-6, and NC objectives covered across the year groups, allowing teachers to see what the children should be building on from, and progressing to, as they make their way through Primary.

These two lessons for this unit cover the Yr 5 objectives on Animal Life Cycles, which should take an hour each to complete. There are the templates attached to show children for completion in books or to use as a photocopied sheet if required. There are links to the YouTube videos which clearly support the lesson in an interesting and fun way.
