Students watch all or part of a video clip - they take notes. They can then discuss, predict in groups or pairs. There are then opportunities for them to create both fiction and non-fiction writing based on the clip. I used this with KS3 and there are activities for several lessons. There is a choice of three pictures to base their descriptive writing - they also have to annotate the features of descriptive writing they have used. I used this to encourage my bottom set Yr.9 to write but it could be used by most years if adapted.

Two slides, one should be enlarged to A3 for students to create their end of term achievements, topic they enjoyed the most, best piece of work etc. The first slide is suggestions of what they could include.
