This is a comprehensive lesson on the most significant river in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal called the River Bagmati . This study will enable students to understand not only the Bagmati River system thereby helping them understand all river systems, but will also draw their focus on the effects of urbanization and mismanagement and how that affect people’s lives. This lesson is meant for higher elementary as well as middle school students. The lesson will emanate from a video on Youtube that throws light on the flood that happened in 2024 in Kathmandu Valley which caused extensive inconvenience and chaos across the city stretching whatever resources that government services had to their maximum. The lesson heavily indulges students into reading maps, naming rivers, directions they flow from and terms like tributaries and sub tributaries. the focus is also on the problems which developed overtime due to government agencies’ oversight and people’s ignorance. This lesson allows for many creative opportunities for students to look closely into solutions to problems and be creative in coming up with innovative ideas. The package has maps, worksheets, power point presentations for a good number of lessons that is entirely up to teachers to plan the way they want to.
